A BOOK DESIGN AND CREATIVE ART STUDIO

As Seadrift, Texas prepared to celebrate the city’s centennial in 2012, Pam Booton approached me about painting portraits of the commercial fishermen,  to honor the history of those who have provided the cultural and economic mainstay of this spirited one hundred year old community.

For me, The Seadrift Fishermen Legacy Project, was a labour of love, and of honoring these members of the Seadrift community.

I wanted to paint likenesses of Seadrift’s fishermen as a way to honor them
for their lifetimes of dedication to their community and their industry. My own
Great-Grandfather was a fisherman many years ago in Cefalu, on the island of Sicily, off of the Italian mainland.
